What's new in Knox 2.4.1?

Knox 2.4.1, the latest version of our mobile security platform, is now available!  The 2.4.1 release contains several security and user experience improvements.

NOTE — Depending on your region and mobile service provider, Knox 2.4.1 may not be available on your device yet. Knox 2.4.1 is released as a part of your device software update package. Go to Settings > About device > Software update to check if any device updates are available.

License activation API methods

As an alternative to the Knox License Activation Tool (KLAT), you can now programmatically activate Knox licenses.

Kerberos SSO using certificates

Kerberos SSO now supports authentication using digital certificates present in the Client Certificate Management (CCM) system or the Android Keystore.

Out-of-Box setup for My Knox

When you turn on a Galaxy S6 device for the first time, you can install My Knox as a part of your device setup process. If you skip this part of the setup process, you can still download My Knox from Google Play.

Quick Access enhancements

You can now override Quick Access by manually locking your Knox container. Re-authentication will be required when you try to access the Knox container.

Knox Mobile Enrollment improvements

Knox Mobile Enrollment now supports tablets and devices without a Device Root Key.

Trusted UI for Samsung Pay

The PIN pad for Samsung Pay is now secured with TrustZone-based technology.

Phone as SmartCard enhancements

The Phone as SmartCard feature now includes Client Certificate Management (CCM) to further secure your enterprise data.

Log in to the Knox Web Portal and see Download Knox SmartCard Applications to set up Phone as SmartCard for your users (available for registered users only).

Support for Android for Work

Users can now install a Knox container and Android for Work on the same Samsung device.
